Sugarsun

If The Cure and The Killers were to have a baby they would name it Sugarsun. Haunting melodies, soaring vocals and a pulsating rock beat. The powerful lyrics are set to the backdrop of a dynamic range of styles and influences that incorporate rock, pop and alternate elements.

The band members are….

VOCALS – Loren Doyle brings the commanding energy and intensity that gives SugarSun its unique sound, as well as a wealth of live experience with popular Sydney party outfit ‘The Rock Monsters’. Loren’s personality and incendiary vocal chops continue to propel the band to new heights.

GUITAR – George Carvalho is the driving lyrical and musical force behind SugarSun, and plays with a flammable passion using a diverse array of musical genres. He was the guitarist for five years for the jazz-funk trio ‘Watch it Grow’, and more recently the rock group Ramshackle Mansion.

RHYTHM GUITAR/BACKUP VOCALS – Melon (Glen Whittorn) is one of the most experienced musicians in the band as he has played & sung on recordings for the likes of Carey Peterson (Aukland Walk, X Factor & the Rock Gods).He has also been a key member in bands such as Full Boar, Contraband, Taken Care of Bidnez & with members of Stormy Monday & The Trilobites.

BASS – Ox likes to sit back and burn in the groove, but when it’s time to ROCK – its on! Ox has worked with a number of accomplished musicians, including ongoing project ‘Box Factory’ with acclaimed songwriter Barry Faulkner, and other bands Druids Circle, Head Touchers, Pink Donut, Battle Cry and Ramshackle Mansion.

DRUMS – Vinko Susac is a powerful and incredibly versatile drummer and his innate understanding fuses SugarSun into precious rock. He has had many years experience in the music industry but is mostly known for being the drummer in the much acclaimed bands such as Unchained, The Brown Sound, Nothing, Drey Rolland Band and the Factor Project.
